British blogger publishing content on his lifestyle and web-coding.
One of my most recent projects, a logo design completed for a blogger, web-coder and photographer, Lewis. Lewis approached me in November of 2020 with a minimal brief to design a logo for his blog.
“‘I’m after a logo for my personal brand. It’s going to mainly be used on my blog site where I’m going to talk about everything from adventuring to coding so if you could find a way to make it generic but not boring that would be perfect.”
My initial sketches, as seen above, experimented with different styles of L’s and LH letter combinations to fit Lewis’ initials. I wanted to opt for a modern, sleek design that was multi-functional. This would allow Lewis to use the logo on his blog site, social media platforms and on other design assets in the future such as business cards.
The addition of supporting name and tagline helps identify the letters LH in the design and directly links to the area Lewis is focussing on. Due to the abstract angles of the L, I wanted to make it as obvious as possible and clear to anyone viewing the logo. The addition of shading between the letters shows the L sitting behind the H and also increases eligibility of both sections, separating the two shapes.
